McDermott, Parker Headline AP All-American Team

Doug McDermott was a unanimous choice for the AP All-American First Team. McDermott is the first player to be on the All-American team in three straight seasons since Patrick Ewing and Wayman Tisdale in 1985.

Shabazz Napier, Sean Kilpatrick and Russ Smith were also seniors named to the All-American First Team, while Jabari Parker was the fifth member.

The second team consisted of Nick Johnson, Andrew Wiggins, Nik Stauskas, Melvin Ejim and T.J. Warren.

Kevin Ware will transfer from the University of Louisville to finish his college basketball career at another school.

"We wish Kevin Godspeed," Rick Pitino said.

Ware gained national attention last season after suffering a gruesome broken leg in the Elite Eight.

Ware averaged 1.7 points in nine games this season and sustained an injury to the same leg.

Ware hopes to transfer somewhere close to his family and is considering Auburn and Georgia State. He once committed to Bruce Pearl at Tennessee.

Anas Osama Mahmoud has committed to Louisville.

Mahmoud is a 7'2 center from Egypt who is averaging 17 points and 12 rebounds for West Oaks Academy in Orlando.

Mahmoud chose the Cardinals over Minnesota, Georgia Tech, Auburn and Florida.
